BENEVOLENCE COMMITTEE
2006 - 2007

The Church Board has committed 10% of all General Fund income to benevolent efforts.  This 10% totaled $29,484.06 for the first eleven months of this fiscal year.  Added to this were other generous gifts from our church family:

 Easter Offering $3,064.00
 Valentine’s Banquet 1,116.25
 Thanksgiving 2,544.00
 Love Loaf/World Vision 2,249.68
 Vacation Bible School 233.58
 Compassion 444.03
 Children’s Church 213.17
 Special Gifts 2,100.00

We started the year (10/01/2006) with $2,209.80 which brings our funds to distribute to $41,453.77.

Thanks to everyone for your generosity on behalf of the recipients of these gifts.

We have supported our regular missions with 85% of the 10% from the General Fund.  These missions through this year were:

 Manhattan Christian College
 Prairie View Christian Camp
 Union Rescue Mission
 Harvey County
Domestic Violence Task Force
 Global Vision Citadelle Ministries

We distributed $21,154.18 to these missions so far this year.

Other areas we have been able to assist in the amount of $13,491.19 are:

 Individual needs
 Sedgwick Booster Club (Christmas)
 ARM
 Love Loaf/World Vision
 Compassion Junior
 World Vision (child sponsorship)
 Youth Camps
 Greensburg Relief
 KU Campus Ministry
Harvey County Domestic Violence Task Force
 Miscellaneous

In addition to these Benevolent cash outlays, we have sponsored the “Adopt a Camper” effort for church camps; two clothing drives for anyone in the area or in the church who could use used clothing (with the remainder going to area missions); contributed donated food and other items to area agencies; sponsored the “Angel Tree” effort at Christmas and meals to people who have needs due to illness or other issues.

In addition to the above efforts by our committee, the Sunday School Classes, Ladies’ Friendship Circle, Youth Groups, Children’s Church, V.B.S., etc. have made additional gifts.

We would welcome and indeed need others to participate with us as members of the Benevolent Committee.  We feel this is a vital effort on behalf of the members of the entire church.

Respectfully Submitted,
Dwaine Dunn
Benevolent Committee Chairman
