Our vision is to partner with parents to help them remember their responsibility to obey God’s Word and teach future generations to do the same….“Take to heart all the words I have solemnly declared to you this day, so that you may command your children to obey carefully all the words of this law.” Deut. 32:46

Awana (3 yrs-6th grade) is a Children’s Ministry where kids have fun learning and growing in Christ. The children participate in games and activities that train their bodies. They learn verses and spiritual truths that expand their minds. They encounter life lessons that feed their souls. With caring, trained leaders investing time, love and wisdom into shaping children’s lives, parents quickly discover that Awana is a fun approach to a serious calling. Our club meetings are so exciting that kids come back for more! Wednesdays 6:10-7:45pm



Children’s Weekend (2 1/2 yrs-6th grade) Each weekend your child can be part of an exciting and active environment filled with songs, puppet skits, Bible story skits, crafts, games, object lessons, experiments, and lesson-reinforcing snacks that teach Godly values at an age appropriate level. Our Children’s Church: Livin’ Inside Out (3 yrs-3rd grade) and Sunday School classes (2 1/2 yrs-6th grade) meet at the same time as adult services. So while you are experiencing the creative life-changing worship of Sedgwick FCC, your children are experiencing it as well.

SonShine Singers is a seasonal and special events ministry focused on carrying out our mission through music. Our children’s choir is open for those in kindergarten through 6th grade with rehearsals on Sundays at 6:30pm. This year, we’ll minister through a Christmas Musical entitled "Back to the Manger" . During the Spring, Preschool-6th grade children can minister through occasional Sunday morning worship and/or an Easter program.

Summer/Special Activities

VBS The most fun place to be every summer!! Vacation Bible School is offered for children completing preschool through 6th grade.
 

Church Camp includes a day camp for those entering kindergarten and 1st grade, and an overnight camp for 2nd grade, 3rd/4th grade, and 5th-6th grade. The camps take place in June/July with swimming, hiking, bonfires, worship, and lots of learning about Jesus! Camp is held at Prairie View Christian Camp located outside of Arkansas City.

Hallelujah Carnival our Halloween alternative is well-received by the children of our community as many come to share in all the carnival-style games located in every space we can find. The kids not only have fun but also leave with lots of candy and prizes as well as a message on the gospel.

Skate Parties: After a long year, it’s fun to just put on some skates and fellowship with your friends and families from church. Even if you don’t skate, come fellowship with us!! The skate party is usually scheduled in the Spring in February/March.

Movie Under the Stars: Annually in May, we celebrate the end of another Awana/JAM year and school year by showing a movie on the front lawn under the stars. Everyone brings chairs/blankets to sit on and we enjoy popcorn and drinks free of charge. Pool Parties: During the heat of the summer, nothing’s better than a refreshing dip in the water and fellowship with your church family!! Join us for a splashing good time centered around Christian fellowship and fun for the entire family!! Even if you don’t swim, you can fellowship with us!

Bowling: Come fellowship and knock some pins over!! Come enjoy lots of fun and laughs as we fellowship and try to get the ball down the lane.
